Welcome!

This independence is my license to do what I love to live for: to write and create uncompromisingly. It's a free rocking world after all and there's so much to discover and unravel in the independent scene where I struggle to live, thrive and survive each day. It's the very essence of living la vida boho-- embracing and celebrating freedom with nothing but this drive and creativity to make things happen. And from my undying romance with the written word to this growing affair with my beadworks, I'm falling hard again as an indiependesigner (I don't know if the term makes sense to anyone but it's just me and this awakened interest to pen down every moment of designing my so-called indie-boho explorations). In short, let me craft a story for you-- could be my own or my valuable indie finds deserving of the world's attention. Enjoy trotting the independent road! And for the record, all expressed here are in my own words-- my thoughts, my views, my say on what I think matters.

Halloween bazaar to benefit kids in need of books

Rock for Humanity (RHum), a volunteer group, will hold a benefit bazaar for community children in need of books and other learning materials. Dubbed “A Halloween Bazaar for Kids & Kids at Heart,” the event is slated for October 30 (Sunday), 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Bulwagang Claret, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Mahinhin St., U.P. Village, Diliman, Q.C.  The bazaar will showcase a wide array of local products like handicrafts, apparels, accessories, gift items, books, toys and other interesting merchandise by Filipino indiepreneurs: independent artists, young entrepreneurs, community groups and talented individuals.

There will be a Halloween kiddie costume contest & fashion show where all kids in their cute and fun costumes are welcome to join. Other activities include a Halloween cupcake design contest presented by Sifting Flour and Pitaka Lifestyle Billfold plus a Halloween kiddie photo contest and bazaaristas’ trick or treat. Donations of books, toys, school bags, school supplies and other educational materials will be accepted during the bazaar.

“A Halloween Bazaar for Kids & Kids at Heart,” is the second leg of RHumobile: Traveling Community Bazaar aimed at empowering local communities and providing an alternative venue for Filipino entrepreneurs to market their products for a worthy cause. RHum’s vision is to advance the cause of humanity by giving back to the community as it endeavors to support cause-oriented projects in the area where the RHum bazaar is being held.

This December, RHum will hold a special Christmas community gift-giving event dubbed “Paskomunidad RHummage Sale” in cooperation with Claret Urban Poor Apostolate (CUPA). Instead of the traditional Christmas gift giving in urban poor communities, RHum will hold a unique bazaar for the poor where quality goods will be sold at very low prices. There will be exciting activities like band performances and recreational workshops to be facilitated by RHum advocates and volunteers from RHum bazaaristas.
